‼️ The Issue‼️
A message going around social media about “at-Tahiyyaat being a conversation between Allaah and the Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam” during the journey of Me’raaj.
✅ REALITY✅
This is a FABRICATED hadeeth.
The words of at-Tahiyyaat are NOT a conversation between Allaah and the Prophet ﷺ.
There’s no proof of that from the Qur’aan or authentic Ahaadeeth.
And similarly there’s no proof “why” we recite
at-Tahiyyaat in our prayers or what the “origin” of these words is except that it’s the instructions of the Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam.
We read the tashahhud
(at-Tahiyyaat) because that’s what the Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam read in his prayer and he taught the Sahaabah and us to do the same.
🍃 Ibn Mas‘ood radhi Allaahu anhu said:
“The Messenger of Allaah
Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam taught me the Tashahhud, holding my hand between his hands, just as he would teach me a Surah from the Qur’aan.”
(al-Bukhaari, Muslim)
🍃 Someone asked the scholars of the Standing Committee about the tashahhud originating during the journey of al-Israa’ wal Me’raaj.
They said:
“With regard to whether the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam recited the tashahhud when he was prostrating at Sidrat al-Muntaha on the night of the Mi‘raj, we do not know of any basis for saying that he prostrated in that place on the night of the Mi‘raj.”
(Fatawa al-Lajnah al-Daimah, 7/6,7)
🔺Attributing something to the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam that he didn’t say is a VERY SERIOUS SIN!
🍃 The Messenger of Allaah Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa sallam said:
“Whoever attributes any words to me that I did not say, let him take his place in the Fire.” (al-Bukhaari)
🔺A person who spreads lies about the Deen of Allaah is one of the MOST EVIL of people.
🍃 Allaah says:
"Who is greater in evil than he, who, without knowledge, invents a lie about Allaah to mislead people? Allaah does not guide the evildoers."
(An'aam: 144)
🔺SIN UPON SIN
It's a HUGE responsibility on us when we say something about the Deen and if it's not correct, we're SINFUL in the sight of Allaah and ANSWERABLE to Him for our actions.
And not only will we ourselves be sinful, but we will ALSO be RESPONSIBLE for the MISGUIDANCE of whoever will read the wrong information that “WE” forwarded without confirming its authenticity.
🍃 The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
"Whoever starts a bad thing in Islaam, and others do likewise after him, there will be written for him a burden of sin like that of those who followed him, without it detracting in the least from their burden.'" (Muslim)
🔺HELP STOP FALSEHOOD from spreading
It's our DUTY as a Muslim to advise politely and try to correct and stop anyone who spreads wrong information about the deen.
Otherwise we become SILENT PARTNERS in letting that wrong information or bid'ah spread.
So SPREAD THIS MESSAGE.
Spread it just like “they” are spreading their false message.
Tell everyone about the dangers and the humongous sin of spreading false ahaadeeth and lies about our beautiful Deen.
This way, maybe we can stop wrong information and misguidance from spreading.
🔺Also DO NOT just “forward” any message you receive on social media “just because it sounds nice.”
Rather VERIFY the information before you forward that message.
It’s a HUGE RESPONSIBILITY!
And Allaah knows best.
