Now that Ramadhaan is soon coming up, a baseless so-called ‘hadeeth’ is making its rounds on WhatsApp, Facebook and other social media.
The so-called ‘hadeeth’ says:
“Ramadhaan is starting on such and such date. Whoever informs people of that and offers congratulations to them for this blessed month, the Fire will be forbidden for him.”
This so-called “Hadeeth” is unfortunately circulated every year.
But this is a FABRICATED hadeeth Astaghfirullaah!
It’s FAKE!
The Prophet ﷺ DID NOT say that.
It’s a LIE on the Prophet ﷺ and is associating something with the Prophet ﷺ that he did not say.
🍃The scholars said:
“What is mentioned in this (so-called) hadeeth about the Fire being prohibited to a person for simply uttering this greeting comes under the heading of reckless talk and exaggeration which indicate that a hadeeth is fabricated and false.
We do not know of any source for the hadeeth mentioned, and it is clearly fabricated.
Hence it is not permissible to attribute it to the Prophet ﷺ because that comes under the heading of telling lies against him, and telling lies against him is haraam and is a major sin.” (Islamqa Fatwa # 215135)
🔺A PLACE IN HELL-FIRE!
Attributing something to the Prophet ﷺ that he didn’t say is a VERY SERIOUS SIN!
🍃 The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said:
“Whoever attributes any words to me that I did not say, let him take his place in the Fire.” (al-Bukhaari)
🍃 And he ﷺ said:
“Whoever narrates a hadeeth from me knowing that it is false is one of the liars.” (Saheeh Muslim 1/7).
🍃 Imaam An-Nawawi said:
“This is a stern warning against lying, which indicates that whoever thinks it most likely that what he is narrating is false but still narrates it is a liar. How can he not be a liar, when he is narrating something that did not happen?” (Sharh Sahih Muslim, 1/65)
🔺MOST EVIL PERSON
Such a person is one of the MOST EVIL of people in the sight of Allaah!
Allaah says:
"Who is greater in evil than he, who, without knowledge, invents a lie about Allaah to mislead people?
Allaah does not guide the evildoers."
(An'aam: 144)
🔺SIN UPON SIN
It's a HUGE responsibility on us when we say something about the deen and if it's not correct, we're SINFUL in the sight of Allaah and ANSWERABLE to Him for our actions.
And not only will we ourselves be sinful, but we will ALSO be RESPONSIBLE for the MISGUIDANCE of whoever will read the wrong information that WE forwarded without confirming its authenticity.
🍃 The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Whoever starts a bad thing in Islaam, and others do likewise after him, there will be written for him a burden of sin like that of those who followed him, without it detracting in the least from their burden.'" (Muslim)
🍃 Imam Ash-Shafi'i said:
"Whosoever considers an innovation to be good has corrected the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam." (Bulugh al-Maram)
🍃 And Ibrahim al-Masayrah said,
"He who honors an innovator has assisted in the demolition of Islaam." (Sharh Usul I'tiqad)
🔺IT DOESN’T EVEN MAKE SENSE
Besides all of the above, it just doesn’t make any sense.
Think about it!
Would just ‘informing’ or ‘broadcasting’ a news about a month, even if it’s a month like Ramadhaan, get a person’s sins forgiven? And the Fire of Hell be forbidden for him?!
For what?
What’s so special about ‘announcing’ something that he will deserve such an immense reward?
What special deed did he do to deserve that?
Wouldn’t IMPLEMENTING good deeds and PROVING with his ACTIONS get him a better reward with Allaah??!
Subhaan Allaah how Shaytaan plays with our minds and makes us blind to the simplest and most logical of things...
🔺HELP STOP FALSEHOOD from spreading
It's our DUTY as a Muslim to advise politely and try to correct and stop anyone who spreads wrong information about the deen.
Otherwise we become SILENT PARTNERS in letting that wrong information or bid'ah spread.
So SPREAD THIS MESSAGE.
Tell everyone about the dangers and humongous sin of spreading false ahaadeeth and lies about our beautiful Deen.
May Allaah guide us to TRUE comprehension of HOW to implement the Deen instead of just following blindly and without understanding.
And Allaah knows best.
