There’s a BASELESS message making its rounds on WhatsApp, Facebook and other social media.
A certain “Mufti” is telling you to read “Surah alam Nashrah” (Surah al-Inshiraah) and “Surah al-Qadr” 21 times each after reciting Durood on the Prophet ﷺ 21 times on the 3rd Friday of Ramadhaan.
This so-called “wazeefah” is supposed to take care of any sickness you may have.
Astaghfirullaah!
This is a NOT TRUE!
There is NO PROOF of this in the authentic sources.
You see, any kind of duaa, tasbeeh or dhikr is a form of worship.
And all acts of worship are 'tawqeefi'; which mean that NOTHING is permitted as Ibaadah except that which is prescribed and proven by the Qur'aan and the AUTHENTIC Sunnah of the Prophet sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam.
🍃Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala says:
“This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion”
[al-Maa’idah 5:3].
That means that Allaah has completed the religion for us; whatever Allaah has not prescribed is NOT part of Islaam.
🍃And the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam said:
“There is nothing by means of which one may draw close to Jannah and move far away from Hell but it has been explained to you.”
(at-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer 1647; saheeh by al-Albaani in as-Saheehah, 1803)
So let’s look at the Qur’aan and the practice of the Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam and his Sahaabah for any evidence for this
“so-called wazeefah”.
Is there any proof of what he’s saying from the Qur’aan?
NO. No such Aayah.
Is there any evidence of this “wazeefah” from the authentic teachings or practice of the Prophet ﷺ or his Sahaabah?
NO. Nothing.
Did the Prophet ﷺ or his Sahaabah read surah alam Nashrah 21 times or Surah qadr 21 times on the 3rd Friday of Ramadhaan?
NO ABSOLUTELY NOT!
Did they “EVER” read surah alam Nashrah 21 times or Surah qadr 21 times?
Or ANY OTHER Surah or Aayah or dhikr on a specific Friday of Ramadhaan?
NO NEVER!
Subhaan Allaah!
If there’s no Aayah in the Qur’aan that tells us to read any such wazeefah and if there’s NO evidence of this from the authentic practice or teachings of the Prophet ﷺ, then how can we do it?
Isn’t that adding to the Deen?!
Isn’t what the Prophet ﷺ taught and practice enough for us?
Are we claiming to know more than the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam ?!
Astaghfirullaah.
It's a HUGE responsibility on us when we say something about the deen and if it's not correct, we're SINFUL in the sight of Allaah and ANSWERABLE to Him for our actions.
🍃 Allaah says:
"Who is greater in evil than he, who, without knowledge, invents a lie about Allaah to mislead people?
Allaah does not guide the evildoers."
(An'aam: 144)
🔺 The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam will DISOWN the people of bid’ah.
🍃 The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
“I will be ahead of you in reaching my fountain, and there will be people who will be prevented from reaching it, therefore, I will say:
'Yaa Rabbi! These are my followers!'
It will be said:
'You do not know what they innovated and altered after you (i.e., after your death)!
Therefore, I will say: “AWAY FROM ME! AWAY FROM ME!”
(al-Bukhaari and Muslim)
And not only will we ourselves be sinful, but we will ALSO be RESPONSIBLE for the MISGUIDANCE of whoever will read the wrong information that WE forwarded without confirming its authenticity.
🍃 The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said:
"Whoever starts a bad thing in Islaam, and others do likewise after him, there will be written for him a burden of sin like that of those who followed him, without it detracting in the least from their burden.'" (Muslim)
🍃 Imam Ash-Shafi'i said:
"Whosoever considers an innovation to be good has corrected the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam." (Bulugh al-Maram)
🍃 And Ibrahim al-Masayrah said:
"He who honors an innovator has assisted in the demolition of Islaam." (Sharh Usul I'tiqad)
Subhaan Allaah how Shaytaan plays with our minds and makes us blind to the simplest and most logical of things...
📌Golden Rule:
It doesn’t matter if it’s a Mufti or Shaikh or Imaam or whoever.
If there’s PROOF in the Sharee’ah for that act of ibaadah, we do it.
If there’s no proof, then we don’t. Simple.
🔺*HELP STOP FALSEHOOD from spreading *
It's our DUTY as a Muslim to advise and try to correct and stop anyone who spreads wrong information about our deen.
Otherwise we become SILENT PARTNERS in letting that wrong information or bid'ah spread.
So SPREAD THIS MESSAGE and be the one who upholds the truth and spreads the Sunnah.
Tell everyone about the dangers and humongous sin of spreading false information and lies about our beautiful Deen.
May Allaah guide us to TRUE comprehension of HOW to implement the Deen instead of just following blindly and without understanding. Ameen.
And Allaah knows best.
