For my beloved daughter when she memorized the Qur'aan..........
You've memorized Allaah's Book, I'm so proud of you
O listen, dear daughter, here's what I advise for you
Today is the day you memorized His Holy Book
With this begins the big journey that you undertook
A Divine Book so pure, so Noble, Complete, for eternity
A miracle and a message for the whole of humanity
In it is a guidance, a healing and a mercy
In it is a way of life, for you, to see clearly
In it you'll find coolness, you'll find peace of mind
Such happiness, such success no one could ever find
A Book full of blessings, that will take you to Jannah
A code of Law, that will keep you away from Fitnah
A Miracle, indeed, that was sent down from the Almighty
Yet amazing how He preserved it in your heart, so tiny
It is truly a tremendous blessing that He enabled you
So thank Him every day, for how He has blessed you
Keep this Book inside you, so very close to your heart
Follow it to the very letter, don't ever let it depart
Read it in the morning, my daughter, recite it at night
Read it throughout the day, don't let it out of your sight
But don't just ‘read’ it, without understanding what it says
Ponder over its verses, implement it in all of your ways
Honor its verses and I promise, it will honor you
Uphold its injunctions and see how Allaah will bless you
Every letter that you read, will bring you ten good deeds
Every command that you obey, will sow Jannah seeds
So increase in your reading, with contemplation and understanding
With sincerity to Allaah, for better learning and comprehending
And don't just keep it to yourself, rather teach it to others
Spread the Word of Allaah to all your sisters and brothers
Hold on to it tight, my daughter, don't ever let it go
Don't ever neglect the message, remember I said so
Don't ever abandon it or put in the back
Don't ever forsake it, collecting dust on the rack
Don't let a day go by without you reading it
Don't ever go to sleep without you hearing it
Keep this Book in the front, don't ever put it behind you
Then see how it will save you, honor you, how it will guide you
Make sure you don't let the Qur'aan be a witness against you
Rather, let this book, on the day of judgment, be a witness for you
And when the going gets rough and you may feel anxiety
In it you'll find a treasure, that brings peace and tranquility
It will solve all your problems, it will set your matters aright
May it always be a guidance for you, may it always be a light
A light that shines through the troubles of the times
And a light that guides you in the hardest of times
Not only in this Dunya but also in the Hereafter
A success so great, there's no worry thereafter
A shield that will protect you from the fire of Hell
The weight of its memorization so heavy on the scale
May this Book be a shade for you on the Day of Judgment
May its recitation be a shelter for you from any torment
May this Qur'aan be an intercessor for you on that Great Day
May it keep your feet firm on that Slippery Way
O listen, dear daughter, this is what I advise you
I only say this, my princess, because I love you
And perhaps one day, long after this, I will be no more
So keep this advice from me that will guide you for sure
Remember, there's no happiness but in the obedience of Allaah
And there's no honor, no success, except in following the Sunnah.
