All Praise is due to Allaah Alone. He is the Most Merciful. And the Most Loving š§” He provides different ways for us, His sinful slaves, to earn easy rewards and get our sins forgiven. One of those beautiful chances is here today. Thereās YET ANOTHER chance for us to earn EVEN MORE REWARDS. Howās that, you say? Starting today, we have a chance to fulfill THREE separate Sunnahs of the Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam, if we fast FOUR consecutive days. If we fast Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, thatās the 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th of Shaābaan. Thus we will be doing THREE actions that the Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam LOVED. 1. Fasting in Shaābaan The MONTH that the Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam LOVED to fast. š Usaamah ibn Zayd radhi Allaahu anhu said: āI said: O Messenger of Allaah, I do not see you fasting as much in any month as you fast in SHA'BAAN.ā He Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam said: āThat is a month concerning which the people are heedless, between Rajab and Ramadhaan, but it is a month in which good deeds are taken up to the Lord of the Worlds, and I would like my deeds to be taken up when I am fasting.ā (al-Nasaaāi- hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaamiā) 2. Fasting Monday and Thursday The two days of the WEEK that the Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam LOVED to fast. š The Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said: āPeopleās deeds are shown [to Allaah] twice each week, on Monday and Thursday, and every believing slave is forgiven except a person between whom and his brother there is a dispute, and it is said, āLeave these two until they reconcile.āā (Saheeh Muslim) 3. Fasting the white days (the 13th, 14th and 15th of every Islaamic lunar month) The three days of EVERY MONTH that the Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam LOVED to fast. šThe Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam said: āIf you fast any part of the month, then fast the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.ā (al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasaaāi - hasan by al-Albaani) Subhaan Allaah! What EASY deeds. Such tremendous rewards. What a beautiful Deen! Such a Merciful Rabb! š§” What perfect preparation for Ramadhaan!
